Candy Bowers is an award-winning writer, actor, social-activist, comedian and producer. The co-artistic director of Black Honey Company, Candy has pioneered a fierce sub-genre of hip hop theatre that delves into the heart of radical feminist dreaming.

Candy is currently working on her first feature film with ArenaMedia, an anthology of Australian monologues for Actors of Colour called EVERYBODY ELSE, Twelve – a soul musical from the streets (after Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night) and One the Bear – a fairytale for the hip hop generation heading to the Arts Centre Melbourne and Sydney Opera House in 2019.

Joe Snow and Pang Productions

Rapper Joe Snow, originally from Leeds UK, has spent the past few year in working as a graffiti artist mentor working with Youth as well linking up with local Melbourne producers on new music with local artists like Must Volkoff, U Wish, Able 8 and Sinks. After a hand full of successful albums with his home crew Defenders Of Style this will be Joe’s second solo release. The 7 track EP features the likes of Lego, Datkid, Res One and Defender’s Of Style’s Prys, with production by Hashfinger, Must Volkoff, Able 8, U Wish, Sinks and Lego. Watch out for the visuals for ‘She Wish’ coming soon.

Pang Productions Australian hip hop artists have been working hard over the past few years to hone their skills and have been making some classic hip hop including some big releases from Must over the last year. Nelson Dialect has made the trip back to Australia after a recent European.

Rawthentic Crew

What initially just started as a bit of fun battling with the homies and rapping at house parties soon turned into a full fledged passion for P.Link and in 2002 Tranquil Artillery was formed. The local group was made up of 8 high school mates who all shared a love for hip hop – Brez(Keyboard/Bass), Lorne(Drums), DJ A-Tap & 5 MC’s – P.Link, J.Mac, DownPat, Lystik & Eazy.

In 2010 P. Link, formed ‘The Aphilliates’ alongside his long time partner in crime J.Mac and the newly recruited DJ Rellik. They recorded a self titled 12 track mixtape over jacked and original beats at Pang studios and started repping the new moniker at live shows all over Melbourne.

Under the guidance of Trem & Must, P.Link formed Rawthentic Records in early 2012 and went onto drop his EP as the labels first official release.

P had shown a clear progression and development in style since the days of Tranquil Artillery and had really found his comfort zone telling stories and personal accounts over gritty boom bap beats, the kind of stuff that he was raised on.

Titan Debirioun

Social-activist, Rapper and Music curator Titan Debirioun, has been producing fierce Melbourne hip-hop. Working within the Sudanese and communities at large Titan creates funky political conscious Hip Hop, paving the way for black and indigenous artists in Australia.

Lotus Moonchild

A natural progression from DJing into Production has seen Lotus develop into a solo artist under Lotus Moonchild. Her first song ‘Unbridled’ on WOW V2, via Inner Ocean Records, has seen her featured on an all-female Beat Tape compiled by Melbourne beat legend SADIVA. A solo EP release is scheduled for late 2019.
